For bikers Amrutha Kashinath and Shubra Acharya, distance has never been something of a bother. They have always relished travelling and have undertaken several trips to various parts of the country. When the biker duo decided to embark on a life-changing journey from Kanyakumari to Leh, little did they know that they’d complete it in record time – 129 hours to be precise.
While achieving this remarkable feat has resulted in their names being added to the Limca Book of Records, this wasn’t exactly their intention. All they wanted to do was complete the trip in a short time-frame. However, this would inadvertently set a benchmark for all aspiring bikers who plan to attempt similar expeditions.
Not only are these two an inspiration for bikers across the country, but also a solid example when it comes to breaking gender stereotypes. Although they were prepared to brace all kinds of challenges en route, the one thing that bothered them the most was getting adequate sleep. They admit that it was indeed strenuous to hold up with just 5 hours of sleep owing to their stringent schedules.
Nevertheless, they managed to pull off this endeavor with flair. Our heart goes out to these strong, bold women who have set shining examples for several to follow.
