The fascinating Belum Caves is the second largest cave system in India, formed by the now-extinct river of Chitravathi. 7. Yaganti Temple
The trip to Gandikota is incomplete without stopping by Yaganti Temple. This temple was constructed by a king from the Sangama dynasty, and the site is said to be chosen by sage Agasthya for Lord Venkateshwara. However, the idol had a chipped toenail which the sage did not want to install; hence he prayed to Lord Shiva, whom he requested to give the devotees Goddess Parvati as a single stone in the form of Lord Uma Maheshwara.

Things to do near the Grand Canyon of India
1. Boating in Owk Reservoir
The Owk Reservoir is a dam built across the river Paleru and is one of the stops on the way to Gandikota Canyon, also known as the Grand Canyon of India. There is a waterfall close by as well, and the Andhra Pradesh government has set up boating services for tourists as the site is extremely picturesque.

2. Adventure sports
There are several activities you can do in Gandikota Canyon or the Grand Canyon of India. They include rock climbing, rappelling, kayaking and camping. The closest railways station from Gandikota are Jammalamadugu (18 km away), Kadapa (77 km away), and Tadipatri(85 km), and from here, you can take a private taxi or an auto.
By Road:
These are the most preferred routes to Gandikota, as the highways are smooth and safe.
