The name of the church is based on the three scholars who went to visit Jesus in Bethlehem. However, the story about the ghosts revolves around the three Portuguese Kings who were the rulers of the place.
One of the three kings got greedy and poisoned the other two. But his subjects became extremely unhappy and the greedy king finally committed suicide. The three kings are buried under the church and it is said that their spirits still roam about.

1. Dona Paula Beach
