EsselWorld is one of the most famous theme parks in Mumbai. To get to the park, you can either take a ferry from the Marve Beach or a bus from Uttan. The park also has rides that are suitable for kids as well as solely for adults.
A few popular rides for adults are the Shot-N-Drop, Kangaroo Hop and the Copper Chopper. Children can enjoy the Big Apple and the Yard Train that takes kids on a train ride of the entire park. Famous ones are Bratzone, What-a-Coaster and Adventures Amazonia. Here there is also the Wetlantic, the largest man-made wave pool in the world that is spread over 100 acres, and the Lagoon, India’s largest aqua play pool.

Adlabs Imagica has some unique rides, so, if you are looking to try something different, this is the place to be. Must try rides at this park are Mr India, Salimgarh and the Rajasaurus River Adventure. At this theme park, there is also a theatre that shows movies in 4D.

Situated to the North West of Gateway of India, the Elephanta Island is a great place to take the kids for a one-day trip to teach them about history and art.

The boat drops you off at the pier, and from there you can either take the mini train or go to the steps of the caves by the fort. Pro tip: Be careful of touts and wild monkeys. 4. Sanjay Gandhi National Park
The Sanjay Gandhi National Park is located close to the suburb of Borivali on the east. It is perhaps the largest picnic spots in Mumbai, occupying 108 square kilometres. During the summer vacations and on weekends, the place becomes a haven of activity, with many locals going here to enjoy picnics near the lakeside promenade and walks along the mangroves.
At the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, there is also a lion and tiger safari where you get to see and click pictures of animals.

1. Jijamata Udyan
The Jijamata Udyan or Ranichi Bagh is the only zoo in Mumbai. It was built in 1861 in the suburb of Byculla. It houses plenty of wild animals like tigers and lions and plenty of species of birds.
In the zoo, there is a large botanical garden where one can find plenty of medicinal plants and trees.
So, a visit to the zoo with the kids is an excellent way to teach them about the plant and animal species living in India. Inside the zoo is also the Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum that is a treasure trove of Mumbai’s rich culture.

2. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya
This museum was formerly called The Prince of Wales Museum. It houses some beautiful artefacts and has a beautiful dome-shaped structure that is a tribute to British, Islamic and Indian architecture.
The museum was designed by George Wittet who also designed the Gateway of India. Inside the museum one can see many Buddhist and Hindu sculptures, as well as lovely miniature paintings. There is also a small section that houses weapons that were used by kings and their armies. There is a charge of Rs. 50 to carry your camera inside the museum.

3. Nehru Science Centre
When you look at the Nehru Centre from the outside you will see a tall building that looks like a pineapple. Inside this building are a theatre, an exhibition space and a room where a permanent exhibition is held.
Next to the building is a small UFO like structure that houses the planetarium. At the planetarium, one can learn a lot about galaxies via replicas of planets and stars. Regular stargazing shows are held here, too. While the entry to the Discovery of India Exhibit is free, there is a fee for visiting the planetarium.
