1. Galta Ji
This pilgrimage centre is located on the outskirts of Jaipur. It is believed to be the home of a saint named Galav. There are many temples situated in this pilgrimage town. All of them lie close to each other and are beautifully constructed.
There is also a natural spring that’s located on the hill, whose water drops into the many kunds (natural tanks) in and around the temples. Visit this place to get a first-hand account of Jaipur’s ancient past and to experience a bit of spirituality.

2. Amer Fort Palace
Located in the town of Amer, the Amer Fort is one of the most scenic forts near Jaipur. It was constructed red and yellow sandstone and it was the former residence of the Rajput Maharajas.
The first attraction at the fort is the Ganesh Gate. It is believed that those who pass through the gate receive the blessings of Lord Ganesha. The fort is also called the Amer Palace. To get to the fort you can either ride an elephant or take a jeep. Elephant rides cost Rs. 1000 for two people.

3. Sheesh Mahal
Located within the premises of the Amer Palace, the Sheesh Mahal is a royal room that is completely decorated with mirrors. Beautifully decorated, the artwork inside the Sheesh Mahal is fantastic.
The gorgeous mirror work on the walls will leave you spellbound. For the best view, make your way through the photo-clicking crowd and closely inspect the artwork on the wall.

4. Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing

5. Sagar Lake
A hidden gem, the Sagar Lake is historic. Located close to the Anokhi Museum and the Amer Fort, this lake is a good place to visit in the evenings.
Always empty, you can spend time here relaxing and gazing at the beautiful sunset in peace. Towards the end of the lake, there is a small temple that is kept clean. There’s also a beautiful structure that dates back to the 17th century to explore.

6. Jaigarh Fort
The Jaigarh Fort was constructed during the reign of Jai Singh II. This fort was strategically built to protect the Amer Palace from intruders. It stands on the Aravalli Hills and overlooks the Amer Palace and the Maota Lake.
The fort was made from red sandstone and is largely still standing. The Jaigarh Fort is connected to the Amer Fort via tunnels that are today closed to the public. Visit this fort to get stunning views of Amer from a height.

7. Panna Meena ka Kund
Amer is a town that is famous for its water tanks. In and around the town you will find many tanks that were believed to have been constructed years ago.
One of the most famous tanks in Amer is the Panna Meena ka Kund. Visit this place to check out the lovely carvings that are typical of Rajput architecture. Entrance is free.

8. Sanganer
